Amount Recommended for Use
Between 0.01 and 0.06% RI-85 should be added, depending on the cement plant conditions and intended use.

Method for Determination of RI-85 in finished cement
Triethanolamine (TEA) is leached from the finished cement using hot water. The TEA is then purified using several ethanol washes. The purified TEA is then reacted with hydrochloric acid vapors to form triethanolamine hydrochloride, a salt. A KBr pellet is formed using the TEA hydrochloride and analyzed by FTIR.
